Model inspired by Guadagnini
Giovanni Battista Guadagnini stands tall amongst the great masters of old. He traveled around a great deal during his lifetime during which he also spent a significant period in Parma, laying the ground stones to the rich history of violin making in our territory. This is the reason why we decided to dive in to the making of a Guadagnini quartet and our violin, cello, and viola are the latest additions to our instrument family.
The viola was the first to join the ensemble. Drawing inspiration from the Wurlitzer Perriere viola from 1780, known for its distinct characteristics and violin-like sound, we sought to preserve its tonal quality while creating an instrument that is visually lighter and more delicate, aligning with our aesthetic. Countless hours were spent meticulously reimagining this classic instrument.
