Giuseppe Guarneri is today considered one of the most talented makers of the 1700. Born in 1698 he was the third generation of the violin making family founded by his grandfather Andrea Guarneri in 1641.
He did not manage to obtain much fame during his lifetime but when famed violinist Niccolò Paganini made the ‘Cannone’ his companion. The combination of the potent sound of the violin and the incredible skills of Paganini elevated the status of Giuseppe Guarneri and posthumously gathered the recognition he deserved.
His instruments are characterized by the spontaneous design and a talent for experimentation.
